What it does

@icons is a collection of SVG symbols for Godot custom nodes and plugins, with a browser picker and an in-editor dock.

@icons makes custom Godot nodes easier to recognize in the scene tree. The SVG artwork follows the editor's small grid and node-color conventions, and the bundled browser picker and editor dock help find a symbol and copy its declaration.

Install a packaged release into the project directory. The repository's source ZIP includes an unbuilt picker, so it is not the installation package. Add the chosen icon path before the class declaration with GDScript's icon annotation or the equivalent C# attribute. Plugin authors can copy individual icons with their import files and the license.

Two project settings deserve attention: changing the editor theme or scale requires reimporting the icons, and Godot includes addon resources in game exports unless they are excluded. Excluding editor-only icons avoids shipping artwork that the player never sees. @icons is free under MIT licensing, with its notice retained.

Strengths

  • The artwork follows Godot’s editor scale and node-color conventions.
  • The picker and dock help copy a custom-node declaration.

Watch out for

  • Changing editor theme or scale currently requires an icon reimport.
  • Editor-only resources are included in exports unless excluded.

Best for

  • Godot custom nodes
  • Godot plugin and addon interfaces
