What it does
Nonicons provides SVG symbols for programming languages, design tools and development tools, with an icon-font build workflow.
Nonicons focuses on programming languages and design or development tools, making it a useful source of small symbols for code navigation and developer dashboards. The artwork is inspired by Octicons, and the project keeps its custom drawings separate from the imported Octicons source.
The repository also contains the font-generation workflow. Its build scripts collect 16px SVGs, process artwork and pass the combined set to Fantasticon. Teams extending that font need to account for both the custom source and its Octicons dependency.
This is primarily an asset and font source project. It suits developers who already control how icons enter their interface and want to adapt the collection locally. Preserve the accompanying license material when distributing the files.
Strengths
- The collection covers language and development-tool identities.
- Its source distinguishes custom artwork and imported Octicons.
Best for
- Developer dashboards and code-navigation interfaces
