What it does
ZDNS is a DNS measurement CLI and resolver library with its own recursive-resolution code and modules for different query types.
Feed newline-separated names from a file or standard input, choose the module, and retain the resolver settings with the JSON results. Raw record modules differ from lookup modules that follow names or obtain addresses for mail/name servers. ZDNS normally queries recursive servers; iterative mode performs its own recursion with cache and timeout controls. Per-name resolver pairs can override the general server list. Concurrency has practical costs: each worker allocates a socket, consuming file descriptors and ephemeral ports even for a short input list. Choose threads to fit the host and resolver rather than treating the default as a safe universal rate.
