What it does
EOS Icons combines its own software-focused artwork with Material Design icons. Its public repository documents icon-font integration, animated SVG assets and migration changes.
EOS supplies technical software symbols alongside Material Design artwork. Install eos-icons, link its stylesheet and keep the matching font files at the expected path. The eos-icons class renders an icon’s name as a ligature; the online catalog supplies those names.
Animated icons follow a separate route: download the chosen SVG and embed it as an image. The font glyphs themselves do not provide that animation. A React library is also linked for component-based projects.
Existing installations should follow the v4-to-v5 migration list because some icons were removed or renamed. For custom font additions, filenames use underscores rather than spaces or hyphens. The collection is free under MIT and installs from public packages without an EOS account; redistributed copies retain the copyright and permission notice.
Strengths
- Technical software artwork extends the familiar Material vocabulary.
- The project documents font integration and a separate animated SVG workflow.
Watch out for
- Major-version migration includes removed and renamed icons.
- Animation uses separate SVG assets rather than the font glyphs.
Best for
- Technical administration interfaces
- Software tools using Material-style iconography
