What it does
Globus connects research storage systems for direct data transfer, collaborator access and automated research workflows.
Sign in with an accepted identity, find the source and destination collections, select files and start the transfer. Globus records progress in Activity and verifies transfer integrity by default. A transfer between two Globus Connect Server collections can continue after the browser closes. Direct HTTPS upload/download is a separate administrator-enabled feature with size limits and without the transfer service’s retry and checksum behavior. Non-profit research users can make free transfers between eligible server/personal endpoints; organizational sharing, automation and connectors have separate subscription scopes.
