What it does
Good Type Foundry sells retail font families and custom type work. Purchases use perpetual licences, with desktop and web file formats supplied according to the licence. Limited-character trial fonts require login and are for evaluation only.
From trial to finished work
Log in on Trial Fonts to download the trial folder. The files have a restricted character set and omit some features; commercial work, self-promotion and self-initiated projects need a suitable paid licence.
Desktop purchases include OTF files. Web purchases include WOFF, WOFF2 and EOT, while variable fonts arrive as TTF files. The FAQ gives installation steps for Mac and Windows and explains adding webfonts through a CSS @font-face rule.
For a logo, the licence permits adjusting letters after converting them to outlines. Modifying or renaming the font file itself is prohibited; Good Type Foundry offers a customisation service for that work. Sharing font files with a client or subcontractor needs the Sublicense add-on.
