What it does
gpodder.net synchronises subscriptions and listening progress between compatible podcast clients.
Use gpodder.net as a synchronisation component between compatible clients, such as gPodder on a desktop and AntennaPod on Android. The current announcement reduces its role to syncing subscriptions and listening actions rather than providing a complete web-based podcast player or discovery catalogue.
The site says inactive-user data was archived and removed from the active database, and archived accounts cannot currently be reactivated. It also warns that accounts may be archived after six months without activity and that action history may be reduced. Keep independent subscription backups instead of relying on the service as the only archive.
Strengths
- Compatible-client synchronisation
Watch out for
- Discovery/indexing scope has been reduced
- Inactive accounts may be archived
Best for
