What it does
Grabient combines a searchable palette gallery with an editor based on lightness, chroma and hue. A palette holds two to eight keyframes and can appear as linear, radial or angular gradients or swatches. Its source implementation is available under Apache 2.0.
Start from a gallery result or a collection such as Bright gradients. In the editor, move keyframes on the lightness, chroma and hue plots, lock values and undo changes while comparing the arrangement. Steps and angle control how the palette is presented.
The same palette has CSS, SVG, PNG, JPEG, JSON and Markdown forms. Design-file exports include ASE and GPL swatches, while GLSL and WGSL suit graphics code. Its address contains a seed that preserves the palette.
Saved palettes are public
Accounts keep likes and collections, but saved palettes can appear in the public gallery. Exported gradients carry a perpetual royalty-free permission for personal or commercial projects. Running a local copy is also possible; some deployed features, including external sign-in and unfamiliar-word search, need additional services.
Strengths
- Lightness, chroma and hue can be adjusted separately
- A palette can produce both design files and graphics code
- The address preserves the underlying palette
Watch out for
- Saved palettes are publicly visible
- Some features of a local installation require external services
Best for
- Exploring a colour set across UI swatches and gradients
- Developers needing palette data or shader exports
