What it does
Gratisography supplies free stock photos and images organised around playful subjects and unusual scenes. Alongside subject categories, its collections include Amusing Animals, Funky Food and AI Generated imagery. Personal and commercial reuse follows its own licence.
The collections are useful when an ordinary subject search misses the tone of a brief. Try Goofy Grownups for humorous people pictures or Artsy Architecture for unusual buildings. Photo pages provide a Free Photo Download link to a JPG without an account step.
The licence allows modification and commercial projects, including advertising and printed materials. Merchandise is allowed only when the picture itself is not the merchandise. Redistributing the images through another stock library is prohibited.
Check the collection label when the difference between a photograph and a generated image matters. Gratisography does not warrant all privacy, trademark or other third-party rights visible in an image, and the licence does not allow implied endorsement.
Strengths
- Collections group images by humour and visual style as well as subject
- Individual JPG downloads do not require registration
Watch out for
- The licence excludes redistribution and merchandise based primarily on the image
- Third-party rights such as privacy and trademarks are not warranted
Best for
- Designers seeking deliberately whimsical visuals
