What it does
Guardian combines a device VPN tunnel with filtering of unwanted trackers and other network requests, with desktop and mobile applications.
Guardian routes internet traffic through its VPN infrastructure and applies filtering there. That makes it different from a browser-only blocker: the documented workflow is intended for traffic from other apps as well as web pages. The page lists several desktop and mobile platforms and permits up to six devices per subscription, with family sharing included in Pro. Start with the supported app and filtering controls for your device.
Guardian's policy describes data kept locally in the app: purchase receipts or tokens, random device identities, alerts and custom block or exception rules. Pro accounts and payment handling can add contact or billing information. It says it does not store log files containing user information and disables standard Nginx access/error logs.
