What it does

Guidejar is a web tool that captures a process and turns it into a step-by-step guide or a clickable walkthrough. Capture runs through a Chrome extension for websites or desktop apps for Mac and Windows. Each step gets a screenshot and an instruction, which you can edit, blur, annotate and reorder. Guides can be shared by link, embedded in other tools, or collected into a branded help center on your own domain. AI features add rewriting, voiceover, translation and redaction. Exports include PDF, HTML, Markdown and MP4. A free plan allows up to 5 guides, and a 7 day trial covers paid plans.

Capture works in the browser and on the desktop for native apps and multi-window flows. The same recording can appear as a scrollable list of steps or as a walkthrough readers click through, and viewers can switch between the two. Onboarding support includes conditional branching, calls to action, dynamic variables for names and company details, and hotspots with pan and zoom. AI covers an AI writer for titles, steps and FAQs, voiceover, translation into more than 30 languages, video-to-guide conversion, automatic blurring of emails, account numbers and faces, and a help center question answering feature. Guides can be embedded in tools such as Notion, Google Docs, Confluence, Gitbook, Intercom, HubSpot, Salesforce and WordPress, and each guide gets a share link, a QR code and an optional custom URL. The help center supports two layouts, a custom domain, a widget, articles, full text search, and access control through named people, a password, an IP allowlist, custom auth or SAML. Analytics show visitors, views, referrers, step completion and reactions, and forms can collect feedback or leads inside a guide. Teams get roles for owner, admin, creator and viewer, separate workspaces, and the option to use their own OpenAI, Anthropic or ElevenLabs keys. Desktop apps are listed as available on the Plus and Business plans.
