What it does
Gumroad gives creators product pages for digital downloads, courses and recurring memberships. You can add files and different versions, choose a price and publish a link for customers to buy. It charges per sale, with a separate Discover marketplace rate, and the seller's country determines the available payout route.
Gumroad can put a download or membership behind a product link without requiring you to build a checkout. In the Products dashboard, choose New product, select the product type and set the price. The Content tab holds the files or lessons; pages and folders can organize a larger collection. Versions let you offer different content packages at different prices.
Use the preview and documented test-purchase option to check the customer flow before Publish. Adding a plus sign to a minimum price enables pay-what-you-want pricing. Choose the display currency carefully for a membership or bundle, because those product types must be recreated to change it later.
There is no monthly platform subscription. Direct sales through your profile or shared links carry the advertised 10% plus $0.50 fee. Gumroad's fee guide says card processing, listed there as 2.9% plus $0.30, or PayPal fees are additional. Discover marketplace sales instead have a 30% rate including processing. The guide also describes an automatic reduction to 5% plus $0.50 for new direct sales after paid sales reach $20,000 in a calendar month, resetting next month; custom account rates take precedence.
Gumroad says it collects and remits sales tax as merchant of record. That statement concerns transaction taxes and should not be read as a promise to handle every tax obligation of your business.
Before publishing, complete Payments Settings and check the payout-country table. Slovenia is listed for EUR bank payouts. Bank accounts generally need to be local to the selected country, with proof of identity and residence or business registration. PayPal is the alternative only where supported.
The normal payout minimum is USD 100, with higher minimums in some countries. Weekly, monthly and quarterly schedules apply a minimum seven-day holding period; daily and instant options have narrower US eligibility. The Payouts dashboard shows the expected sending date and provides a CSV breakdown. Account review and bank processing can add time, so a completed customer purchase is not an immediate bank deposit.
