What it does
Heartland Bank offers New Zealand savings accounts through its website and mobile app. Digital Saver lets you withdraw to one nominated account without a monthly fee or minimum opening deposit. Statements and transaction exports help you keep a separate record of your savings.
Digital Saver suits money you want to keep apart from everyday spending. Withdrawals go to the single account you nominate, which can be at another bank. You can move funds out at any time, but this arrangement does not let you pay any recipient directly. A nominated-account change can be requested through digital banking or the bank’s other service channels.
Costs and access
There is no minimum opening deposit, required monthly contribution or monthly account fee. Digital self-service withdrawals are free. Asking a staff member to perform a withdrawal that you could make digitally costs NZ$10; the staff member tells you before charging it. Other requested services can have their own charges. The product sheet sets a NZ$1 million withdrawal maximum per transaction and per day.
For a new account, choose Open Digital Saver on the product page and complete the online application and identity checks. Existing customers can open an additional savings account through Heartland Digital or the app. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly, at a variable rate.
Keeping account records
Open the account summary, then More options and Generate a statement. Select a date range and generate it; My documents holds the result for download. You can also begin from My documents and choose the account there.
To export transactions, open the account and choose More options, then Export transactions. Load more transactions extends the list beyond the recent entries initially displayed. Secure messages reach the bank through the envelope icon, which is useful for an account question without sending account details through ordinary email.
