What it does
Simply Piano provides lessons, exercises and song-based learning with immediate note feedback.
Most Simply Piano courses listen to a real piano or keyboard and return note feedback. You can start without an instrument in Touch Intro, which is free; Stay in Touch requires a subscription. The on-screen keyboard belongs only to those touch courses, while the song and sheet-music libraries require a real instrument.
For an iPhone or iPad with app version 9.4.35 or later, a keyboard with built-in Bluetooth MIDI can pair directly under Menu → Settings → MIDI Settings. Choose the keyboard and wait for Connected. Use Change Course to move between touch lessons and sound-detection piano courses.
