What it does
HMA VPN offers desktop/mobile access, automatic connection settings, a kill switch and different simultaneous-device allowances for standard and family plans.
HMA distinguishes how many installations you can keep from how many devices can connect at once. Its page allows installation on many Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices, with five simultaneous connections on the standard plan and ten on Family. That distinction matters for a shared household account. The documented controls include automatic connection, a kill switch and one-click location selection. Configure the auto-connect behavior around the networks you actually use rather than treating installation alone as an active tunnel.
HMA's policy excludes originating IP addresses, DNS queries, browsing history and transferred content from the data sent to its servers. It still describes operational retention: server service totals for eighteen months, client connection events for twelve months, application events for eighteen months and crash reports for ninety days. It says connection events are not paired with an individual user, while a report you submit can include identifying information.
