What it does
Histats provides website counters, real-time traffic statistics and a log analyzer. It reports referring sources, visited URLs, locations and technology information, with tags and custom-event support and controls for multiple sites.
Histats offers visible counters and hidden trackers. Register an account with an email address and password, add the website, choose the counter style and paste its code into the site.
The log analyzer covers the latest 20,000 hits. It can narrow visits by referring source, entry page, country and other attributes, and save a filter for reuse. Hourly, daily and monthly aggregate reports have longer retention, so the recent-hit log is a different view of the traffic.
Tracking is free within the published limits of ten million hits per day and 300 websites per account. Each site has its own report-access controls.
Strengths
- Provides both recent-hit analysis and longer-term aggregate reports.
- Supports saved segmentation filters and multiple website controls.
Watch out for
- The detailed log analyzer covers only the latest 20,000 hits.
- One account can manage at most 300 tracked websites.
Best for
- Site owners who want counter-based traffic reports and recent-visit inspection
