What it does
Hitsteps combines real-time visitor reporting with source, campaign and page analysis. Paid capabilities include visual behavior tools, segmentation, funnels, commerce measurement and other monitoring features, with different data-history and site allowances.
A Hitsteps Segment can combine a visitor's source, device, location, viewed pages and recorded Actions. Open the Segment builder or begin with filters in Recent Visitors. Add the conditions that must all be true, use the test control to inspect matching visitors, then save the rule. Custom Action requirements use separate key/value pairs; up to fifty can belong to one Segment.
Eligible analytical matches can be rebuilt from retained visits, limited to thirty days or the plan's shorter history. Rebuilt matches never send old notifications or populate funnel stages. Funnels instead use recorded live Segment matches: exact order requires every stage, while forward order allows optional stages to be skipped. A saved funnel can prepare recent history from live matches that already existed.

New accounts receive a seven-day Pro trial without a card or automatic charge. Afterward, select a paid monthly plan or apply for Free if eligible. Installation uses a tracking script or a supported platform integration.

Watch out for
- Reconstructed analytical matches do not backfill funnel progress or notifications.
- A Segment cannot include another Segment as a condition.
