What it does

Hong Leong Bank’s digital services support everyday payments and account management in Malaysia. Sole proprietors can let an Admin Clerk prepare banking tasks while retaining approval. Parents can supervise pocket money and spending through an eligible junior account.

Share preparation while keeping approval

Add Clerk lets a sole proprietor’s assistant prepare transfers and bills and save payees. The owner can choose permitted transaction types, set daily limits and change or disable the clerk’s access. Merchant statements and BizBuddy sales reports are also available to the clerk.

Give pocket money and follow its use

For a junior card, open Pocket Connect in HLB Connect, select Add Pocket Money, choose the child and amount, then Proceed. A confirmation appears and the child receives a notification. For a regular allowance, select the recurring-reload option and choose a daily, weekly or monthly schedule.

Parents can monitor spending, set limits and freeze the card. In the mobile app, the junior card’s summary shows the last 15 transactions within seven days; Transactions opens more history.

Accounts and charges

Basic Savings opens with RM20 for Malaysian citizens, permanent residents or eligible Malaysian micro enterprises. Its debit card has no issuance or annual fee when linked only to qualifying basic accounts. Paper savings statements cost RM2 each.

The 3-in-1 Junior Account opens with RM1. It requires a Malaysian parent or legal guardian aged 18 or over and a child under 18. Bring the adult’s identification and the child’s MyKid and birth certificate to a branch, or arrange a visit with a deposit relationship manager.

The standard reloadable junior debit card costs RM8 to issue and RM8 annually. Reloading through HLB Connect is free; counter reloads cost RM2. These junior-card charges are separate from the Basic Savings card waiver.

Strengths

  • Clerk permissions and daily limits remain under owner control
  • Junior reloads can repeat on a chosen schedule
  • Parents can freeze the junior card and review spending

Watch out for

  • Junior card use requires the qualifying account and age conditions
  • The standard junior card has issuance and annual fees

Best for

  • Malaysian sole proprietors delegating payment preparation
  • Parents supervising a Hong Leong junior account
