What it does
Hooktheory combines Hookpad composition tools, TheoryTab song analysis, ear training and theory books.
Browse an analysed progression in TheoryTab, then try a chord-and-melody idea in Hookpad. Its visual guides use scale and chord relationships, with tempo and looping controls. Free projects save in the cloud.
Hookpad Standard adds MIDI-device input, imported or recorded audio, MIDI/MP3 export, sheet music and local disk saving. The Aria generative feature is a separate add-on. Compare those outputs with the songwriting job you need; the theory books and ear-training service are separate purchases.
