What it does
HTML CSS Color is a free web-colour reference with named entries, numeric values and related colour combinations. Its colour pages include shades, tints, CSS examples and PNG swatches in several sizes.
A named entry leads to a dedicated hex page. RebeccaPurple, for example, opens #663399 with RGB values 102, 51 and 153. The page offers a copy-colour control and PNG icons from 16 by 16 to 256 by 256 pixels.
Related sections show darker shades, lighter tints, channel-order variations and complementary or neighbouring hues. Foreground, background and border declarations illustrate how the chosen hex value is used in CSS.
Some numeric labels need correction. The #663399 page marks HSL saturation as 0.5% and lightness as 0.4%; the correct percentages for that RGB colour are 50% and 40%. Its hex and RGB values provide a clearer starting point than copying those percentage labels.
Strengths
- Named entries link to a dedicated colour page with a copy control.
- PNG colour icons are offered in five sizes.
Watch out for
- The #663399 page mislabels fractional HSL values as percentages.
Best for
- Browsing named web colours and collecting their hex swatches.
