What it does

httpstatus.io checks response codes, headers and redirect chains. It supports request settings, filtering and spreadsheet exports, with a separately offered API.

Check a migration's redirect list

Paste up to 100 URLs and choose Check status. Open the blue arrow beside a URL to inspect each redirect and its final destination. Filter for errors or particular redirect types, then export to CSV or XLS for your migration checklist.

Use User Agent when browsers and crawlers receive different responses. Custom headers and HTTP Basic Authentication support checks of sites you manage. The checker follows up to ten redirects; lower simultaneous requests if the server returns 429 errors.

Canonical domain check compares HTTP, HTTPS, www and non-www versions. For Google Sheets export, set the destination in Settings > Data export and grant the specified editor access before choosing Export to Sheets.

API access

The service offers free access and paid API plans. API Starter costs EUR 15 per month, excluding applicable taxes, for 20,000 calls with a hard limit and two requests per second. Each API request checks one URL and returns JSON.

Strengths

  • Exports filtered status and redirect results to spreadsheets.
  • Supports custom headers, user agents and request throttling.

Watch out for

  • The web checker accepts 100 URLs per batch and follows ten redirects.
  • Google Sheets export requires editor access to the destination sheet.

Best for

  • SEO teams reviewing migration response paths
