What it does

Hubdoc extracts information from bills and receipts and creates transactions in supported accounting products with the original document attached. It serves bookkeepers and businesses through a paid account, with a 30-day trial for standalone use.

A bill photographed on a phone and an invoice forwarded by email can enter the same Hubdoc account. Signup creates a personal document-upload email address. Scanned files and desktop uploads provide two more ways to collect paperwork.

Hubdoc extracts the supplier, amount, invoice number and due date. Publishing creates a transaction in a connected accounting product such as Xero or QuickBooks Online with the original document attached. That attachment gives a bookkeeper a route back to the bill when an entry needs checking. Supplier Rules can automate coding and publishing for recurring suppliers.

Documents are organized into searchable, customizable folders. Invite your accountant by email to work with the collected records, download copies when needed or use the Box connection for an additional document copy.

The standalone U.S. price is US$12 per month after a 30-day trial that does not require a credit card. The listed package includes unlimited usage and multiple collaborators. Hubdoc is a document-capture layer for the accounts; a connected accounting product has its own access and subscription arrangements.
