What it does

Hugeicons offers multiple icon styles, design plugins and framework packages. The free Stroke Rounded pack uses MIT, while Pro has a separate licence and yearly or one-time purchase options.

For a new React project, use @hugeicons/react with @hugeicons/core-free-icons. Import HugeiconsIcon from the renderer and an icon such as Notification03Icon from the pack, then pass that data through the icon prop. Size, color and strokeWidth control its appearance. The old hugeicons-react package is deprecated.

The free pack covers Stroke Rounded and needs no account, seat or licence key. Pro expands the styles, including filled, duotone and sharper treatments. Its yearly plan and one-time Pro Plus option are sold per seat. Hosted use also has plan-specific pageview and bandwidth allowances.

Each person who directly accesses Pro files in Figma, code or a shared design system needs a seat. People merely viewing the finished product do not. Pro icons must remain part of the delivered product and cannot be offered as reusable source assets.

Downloaded offline files remain licensed after a yearly subscription ends, but licence-key services and updates require renewal. The free MIT pack has separate redistribution rights and is not subject to the Pro restrictions.

Strengths

  • The free Stroke Rounded pack is MIT licensed without seats or account signup.
  • Current React setup separates the renderer from the selected icon data.

Watch out for

  • Pro seats are required for each person directly accessing its assets.
  • Yearly-plan online services stop when the subscription expires.

Best for

  • Teams comparing a free pack with broader visual styles.
  • React projects using renderer-plus-pack integration.
