What it does
Hugin is a cross-platform panoramic imaging toolchain for assembling overlapping photographs into a panorama or mosaic.
Start with overlapping views of the same scene. Hugin's 0.7.0 tutorial explains shared control points, lens and exposure alignment, preview framing and projection, then saving a project and named panorama. Those are workflow concepts from an older guide, rather than verified current button labels. Check the actual platform build before committing: the download page links Windows and Linux options, but its Mac bundle is a 2019 Intel build explicitly incompatible with Apple Silicon. Source releases and community packages differ.
Strengths
- Panorama and overlapping-photo stitching
- Tutorials for the imaging workflow
Watch out for
- The officially linked 2019 Mac bundle does not run on Apple Silicon; other builds need separate checking.
Best for
- Building a panorama from overlapping photographs
