What it does
Hyperping is a hosted monitoring workspace for websites, APIs, servers, and scheduled jobs. It combines regional uptime checks with alert routing and status pages, and also supports synthetic browser checks built with Playwright. A failed probe is retried from the other selected regions before an outage is opened, helping teams avoid paging on a single probe's network failure.
Add an endpoint or user journey
In the dashboard, choose New monitor, give the monitor a name, select a protocol, and enter a URL or host. For an HTTP check, the default considers a 2xx response healthy; the setup guide also describes configuring request details and assertions. Pick the regions that matter to your users and set a check interval. The same monitor can be created through the REST API or Terraform if you manage operations as code.
A single failed check is not enough to open an outage. Hyperping reruns a failure from the other selected regions and alerts only when it is confirmed. You can send alerts through configured channels, then use the status page to share incident and recovery information. For a critical sign-in or checkout, a Playwright browser check can test a user flow rather than only checking whether the host responds.
Decide whether the free tier is enough
The free plan lists 20 monitors, five-minute checks, one server-monitoring agent, and one basic status page. Paid plans add more monitors, shorter intervals, additional agents, logs, and team features. This makes Hyperping practical for basic uptime and synthetic checks, but teams should compare plan limits against their check cadence, server-agent, and log needs before moving production monitoring into it. An alert helps identify an outage; the team still has to diagnose and correct the service.
Strengths
- Checks from multiple selected regions and confirms failures before opening an outage.
- Supports HTTP, ping, port, DNS, and Playwright browser checks, with API and Terraform setup paths.
- Combines monitoring alerts with on-call escalation and customer-facing status pages.
Watch out for
- The free tier is capped at 20 monitors and five-minute checks; faster intervals and higher limits require a paid plan.
Best for
- Monitoring websites and APIs from several regions with an incident status page
- Checking sign-in, checkout, or other browser journeys with Playwright
