What it does
IBM Cognos Analytics brings data modelling, business reports, visualizations and an AI assistant together. It offers IBM-hosted access alongside other enterprise deployment choices.
Receiving a report and maintaining its schedule require different Cognos permissions. The hosted Standard plan includes dashboards, data models, the AI assistant and report receipt. Premium adds creating, running and scheduling reports, together with custom visualizations and advanced administration.
Standard starts at USD 10.60 per authorized user per month; Premium starts at USD 42.40 per authorized user per month. IBM describes these as indicative prices, with country-specific terms and taxes affecting the purchase. A team with many report readers can therefore distinguish those users from the smaller group that produces recurring reports.
IBM-hosted access is one deployment choice. Cognos also supports on-premises, dedicated-cloud and container arrangements, so the intended deployment affects how sources and administration are configured.
The hosted trial lasts 30 days and needs no credit card. Its registration asks for an email address, name and country, with an existing IBM account available for sign-in. Trial access lets a team explore Cognos before choosing the production deployment and appropriate user licences.
