What it does
Ibotta's consumer app provides cash-back offers for supported retailers. Its documented routes include loyalty-account linking, eligible paper-receipt submission and online shopping.
Ibotta's sequence matters: choose a supported retailer and add the offers before shopping. The submission route then depends on the retailer and purchase. A supported loyalty link can match purchases automatically, while manual in-store redemption uses a qualifying paper receipt. Online offers use a separate shopping flow.
For manual receipts, the current help article requires a complete, readable point-of-sale receipt submitted within seven days. Digital receipts and screenshots are not accepted for that in-store route. Keep the channel distinction clear; a process that works for an in-store offer is not automatically the process for online grocery shopping.
Strengths
- Several submission routes accommodate different supported retailers
Watch out for
- Manual in-store offers require qualifying paper receipts within the stated time window
Best for
- US shoppers researching how to redeem an eligible shopping offer
