What it does
iconmonstr is Alexander Kahlkopf’s collection of simple icons drawn on a 24-pixel grid. It offers fill and outline artwork, SVG and PNG exports, favorites and size, color or background controls.
Open an icon’s page to choose SVG or PNG. The Quote Right example includes Download, Embed and Favorite controls; Embed offers inline and Base64 forms for a web page. The interface asks you to accept the iconmonstr licence before using an icon.
Favorites can keep a small selection together, and the generator changes size, color and background shape. Filled and lined versions make it possible to choose one treatment for the project. There is no whole-library download: iconmonstr is intended for selecting particular symbols.
The free licence covers personal and commercial work without attribution. It is for one user, and icons must be part of the design rather than the product’s main value. You may adapt them, but cannot share or redistribute the files, use them in a logo or turn them into a separate icon product.
Strengths
- Paired fill and outline treatments share a consistent drawing approach.
- Offers web embeds as well as SVG and PNG formats.
Watch out for
- The complete collection cannot be downloaded in bulk.
- The single-user licence excludes file sharing and logo use.
Best for
- Selecting individual website symbols.
- Presentations needing simple icons in a consistent style.
