What it does
Bootstrap Icons is a free, open-source library of SVG interface icons that works with or without Bootstrap. It offers individual files, an SVG sprite and an icon font, with catalog filters for names, tags and categories.
Bootstrap is optional: the icons can be used in plain HTML or another framework. Browse a category such as Files & Folders, or filter the catalog by a name or tag.
Choose how to include them
| Format | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Individual SVG | Copy the file into the project or paste its markup into HTML. |
| SVG sprite | Reference an icon inside bootstrap-icons.svg by its filename. |
| Icon font | Load the stylesheet and combine the bi class with the chosen icon class. |
Install the distribution with npm i bootstrap-icons, or use the downloadable release. Inline SVG and font icons inherit the current text color. Serve an external sprite from the same origin as the application, since browsers can restrict cross-origin sprites.
For an icon-only button, give the button an accessible name and hide its decorative child icon from assistive technology. The MIT licence allows commercial projects; retain its notices when distributing the library.
