What it does

IG combines market analysis and trading platforms with charts, alerts, education and a practice account. Its international service focuses on contracts for difference across share, currency, index and other markets. These contracts differ from owning the underlying assets.

The international IG site is built around CFD research and execution. Its tools serve different jobs: screeners help find markets, calendars track events, and charts and account analytics support closer examination. Web and mobile platforms sit alongside options such as MetaTrader, ProRealTime and TradingView.

The demo registration asks for contact details, a username and country of residence. It supplies US$20,000 in virtual funds. Use it to follow a market, set alerts, inspect price charts and learn the deal ticket and open-position view. Simulated trading can explain the controls, but it does not establish live execution quality.

IG International charges through spreads and, depending on the market, commission. Overnight cash positions can incur financing; futures funding is incorporated in the spread. The international fee page also lists a 1% conversion charge when a CFD uses a different currency from the account. Guaranteed stops carry a fee if triggered, and some live data requires a subscription.

A live account needs an application and verification. The international offer is not directed to US residents; other locations have their own product and account rules. Leverage can increase losses quickly, so the demo is a useful place to understand exposure and stop controls before evaluating live access.
