What it does
interactive investor combines UK investment and pension accounts with research and a flat monthly platform fee. Plans cover access to a Trading Account, Stocks and Shares ISA and personal pension. Regular investing schedules purchases from an account balance or Direct Debit.
interactive investor’s main pricing distinction is a fixed platform subscription. That makes the relationship between the fee and portfolio size easy to calculate, but dealing, currency conversion and fund costs still need separate attention. Account purpose also matters: the same plan can provide access to general investing, an ISA and a self-invested personal pension.
| Plan | Monthly platform fee | Main distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Core | £5.99 | Portfolio up to £100,000; Direct Debit fee payment required |
| Plus | £14.99 | No portfolio limit; one included monthly trade and family benefits |
| Premium | £39.99 | Ten included monthly trades, lower FX rate and ii360 access |
Core upgrades to Plus when the portfolio exceeds £100,000. Regular investing has no trading fee on all three plans; ordinary Core and Plus UK/US share trades cost £3.99 before any included-trade allowance. Premium’s rate is £2.99. Other markets and fund trades have their own schedules.
For monthly purchases on the website, open Portfolio, then Regular investing, choose the account and Add regular investment. Search the eligible UK investments and enter a monthly amount. In the app, open the account’s three-dot menu and choose Regular investments. Up to 25 monthly investments can be set for each account, from £25.
The Trading Account application is for people aged 18 or over who are UK tax residents. Have bank details and a National Insurance number ready. Before transferring, search for the investments you hold: ii cannot accept holdings it does not offer.

- Website and app both support scheduled investment setup
- One plan can provide access to general investing, ISA and pension accounts
Watch out for

- Transfers cannot include investments outside ii’s supported range

- Users arranging monthly purchases across several account types
