What it does
IINA is an open-source macOS player with trackpad gestures, Picture in Picture, customisable controls and plugins.
IINA puts a Mac interface around mpv playback, with trackpad gestures, media controls, Picture in Picture and adjustable sidebars. Plugins add subtitle sources, video tools and other community functions.
The current 1.5.0 download requires macOS 12, or macOS 11 on Intel. Match the build to the Mac before considering plugins, and assess any plugin's requirements separately from the player's base installation.
Strengths
- Mac interaction features accompany mpv playback.
