What it does
Impressive displays presentation PDFs or image sequences. It adds an overview screen, transitions, and presentation-oriented navigation to exported slide files.
Export slides to PDF, or use a folder of pre-rendered images, then present them with Impressive. Tab opens the slide overview for jumping during questions. Drag boxes to focus attention, save them with S for the next run, or use Enter for a movable spotlight. These are presentation effects rather than edits to the source PDF. The GPL-licensed app requires suitable OpenGL support; Windows and Linux routes are documented, while the manual calls its MacPorts package outdated and not recommended.
Strengths
- Adds a presentation overview to ordinary PDF slide output.
Watch out for
- Requires OpenGL-capable graphics/drivers; the manual's MacPorts package is not recommended.
Best for
- Delivering exported PDF slides without the original authoring application
