What it does
Independent Reserve offers cryptocurrency trading for individuals, companies, trusts and self-managed super funds. Its Australian service supports AUD funding plus USD and NZD SWIFT deposits. Identity verification is required for withdrawals, and account eligibility depends on residence.
Choose the account and funding currency first
Independent Reserve has separate setup guides for personal, company, trust and self-managed super fund accounts. The Australian page accepts adult Australian customers and lists additional supported countries, including New Zealand, Singapore, Canada and Slovenia. A country appearing on that list does not mean every local funding method is available there.
For a personal account, select Create Account, choose Personal, register the username and email, then enter the emailed confirmation code. Verification collects name, date of birth, address and phone details; photo ID, a selfie and proof of address may be required. Funds cannot be withdrawn until verification is complete.
The trading charge is separate from funding
Standard trading starts at 0.5% and falls with 30-day volume to 0.02%. AUD bank transfers have no deposit charge. PayPal deposits cost 1%, while SWIFT deposits cost USD15 or NZD20 in the respective currency. Crypto withdrawal fees vary by asset and network.
The app exposes limit orders and the order book, and an API is available for connected tools. OTC and leveraged trading have separate routes and conditions. Holding or trading cryptocurrency can result in substantial losses.
