What it does

Inflo combines digital working papers, transaction analytics, client collaboration and quality-management workflows for accounting firms. Its Excel and Word add-in can bring engagement balances into the documents used by the audit team.

An audit often needs the same balance in working papers, analysis and client discussions. Inflo connects those parts of the engagement: analytics examine the supplied transactions, working papers hold the testing work and Collaborate tracks document requests and outstanding submissions.

InfloLink provides a practical route from engagement data to Excel or Word. Sign in through the add-in, select the engagement and choose Planning, Fieldwork or Completion. Use the link beside a chart-of-accounts item to insert its name or balance. Excel balances use an INFLO.BALANCE formula, while Word receives text. Refresh in the add-in when the underlying engagement changes.

Take care with repeated account names. The balance formula sums matching names by default; its optional ParentName input narrows the result to a particular parent grouping. You can also choose original, adjusted or adjustment balances, which helps avoid mixing figures from different stages of the audit.

Inflo's Digital Audit guide describes the core as free, with premium capabilities selected and charged by engagement. Ask for the cost and included modules for your firm's workload before adopting analytics, collaboration or other premium functionality. The public guide does not provide a rate card.

Access uses an individual account. The lead user controls who can upload data or view results for an engagement, and additional authentication can be enabled. This makes the platform useful for teams that need client input without giving every participant the same access.

Strengths

  • Brings working papers, analysis and client requests into one engagement process
  • Links selected engagement balances to Excel and Word
  • Lets the lead user control engagement access

Watch out for

  • Premium functionality is chosen by engagement and needs a pricing discussion
  • Duplicate account names can aggregate unless the balance formula is narrowed

Best for

  • Audit firms sharing engagement work and data across a team
  • Practices that want linked balances in Excel or Word alongside digital working papers
