What it does
Integral Calculator evaluates definite and indefinite integrals and presents worked integration steps with interactive plots.
Enter the integrand without f(x)= or dx, inspect the rendered expression, then choose variable and bounds before Go. Without bounds, Integral Calculator returns an antiderivative; options also select numerical-only integration, simplification, complex domain and decimal handling. The root-simplification option explicitly replaces √(x²) with x rather than |x|, so its assumptions matter. Input preview and graphs run in the browser, while calculation sends the expression and settings to a Maxima server. Steps can stop when time or available methods run out. Answer checking may fall back from symbolic simplification to random-point comparisons. The service is free.
