What it does
WiFi Explorer discovers and analyzes nearby wireless networks using a Mac's built-in adapter, with filtering and decoded network details.
Compare nearby access points by channel, security and advertised capabilities, then filter the results to the networks relevant to the problem. WiFi Explorer decodes network details as well as showing signal, helping explain configuration conflicts in a home or small-business WLAN. The standard Mac application uses the built-in adapter. The publisher explains that its CoreWLAN scanning framework does not recognize external Wi-Fi adapters; external-adapter support belongs to a Pro workflow. The current standard release requires macOS 13.5 or later and offers a three-day trial. Results describe networks visible from that Mac, with separate requirements for other WiFi Explorer variants.
