What it does

InvestNow provides online access to managed funds, KiwiSaver and term deposits from several providers. Its portal combines holdings, cash movements, orders and recurring fund purchases. The service has no account or administration fee, while individual funds retain their own charges.

InvestNow consolidates administration without making every investment the same product. Compare the fund and manager first; KiwiSaver and term deposits have separate arrangements. The dashboard shows portfolio value, contributions and withdrawals, the transaction-account balance and holdings. Its chart distinguishes the portfolio’s value from money moved into or out of it.

For a regular fund contribution, choose the funds, allocation percentages, amount and frequency. Plans can run weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly or every six months, with an optional end date. The current portal guide places plan setup and maintenance under Buy & Sell. One-off fund purchases start at NZ$250; a regular plan needs at least NZ$50 per fund.

The plan draws from the InvestNow Transaction Account. Arrange bank funding early enough for cash to clear, ideally at least two working days before the scheduled run. Insufficient cash triggers retries over three working days; continued failure stops the plan and generates an email. A new or edited plan must start on a future date.

InvestNow adds no account or administration fee. Fund management charges still apply, and some products have transaction fees. Cash in the Transaction Account earns no interest for the customer.

An account is required. The service identifies a New Zealand IRD number and bank account as basic requirements, and its online identity route uses a New Zealand passport or driver’s licence. Review the chosen fund’s documents and charges before placing an order.

Strengths

  • Consolidates fund managers and banks in one administrative portal
  • Shows cash movements separately from total portfolio value
  • Recurring fund plans allow percentage allocations and several frequencies

Watch out for

  • Uninvested Transaction Account cash does not earn interest for the customer
  • A recurring plan stops after three failed funding attempts

Best for

  • New Zealand users managing funds from several providers
  • Investors organizing scheduled contributions across multiple funds
