What it does

Invision Community combines discussion forums with events, downloads and publishing, with member-group access controls. Cloud access is a subscription; a private 30-day trial needs your name and email but no payment card.

Live Topics combine video, structured questions and sidebar chat, then become a forum topic where discussion can continue. Timestamped questions help members revisit a section. A product education group could keep the recording and follow-up together alongside versioned downloads.

Group permissions control who may see, post or manage content. Moderators can cover individual forums, and the page builder brings community feeds into landing pages.

Cloud plans support monthly or annual payment, with unlimited administrator accounts. Storage, member views and live-event allowances vary; additional storage requires a higher plan. Cancellation includes a free backup of community data. Classic is a separate self-hosted licence with an initial purchase and annual update charges.

Request a trial with your name and email to receive the community URL and login. Its address is randomly assigned, outgoing email is disabled and third-party applications cannot be installed during the trial. Settings and content carry over when upgraded to a paid plan.

Strengths

  • Live event questions become a topic that can continue after the event
  • Group permissions and forum-level moderation support separate member spaces

Watch out for

  • Trial communities cannot send email or install third-party applications
  • More cloud storage requires upgrading the plan

Best for

  • Customer and creator communities combining ongoing discussions with events and resource libraries
