What it does

invoicely is online invoicing software for small businesses that bill for work, expenses and travel. It combines invoices, estimates, recurring billing and payment reminders, with web, iOS and Android access. A lasting free account has a small allowance, while paid plans increase invoice, client and team limits.

A consultant can record billable time, a reimbursable purchase or a client visit and use those entries when preparing the invoice. invoicely also handles estimates and recurring statements, so the work record and the bill need not live in separate spreadsheets.

The monthly plans are priced in US dollars. The first partial month is prorated, then regular billing occurs on the first of each month.

Plan Monthly fee Invoices per month Saved clients Team members
Free US$0 5 3 None
Basic US$9.99 100 25 Up to 2
Professional US$19.99 250 100 Up to 10
Enterprise US$29.99 Unlimited Unlimited Up to 25

Free accounts use invoicely-branded PDF invoices and PayPal as their online payment gateway. Count both customers and bills before choosing: five invoices for one repeat customer and five invoices for five different customers use the allowances differently.

After signing up, choose Add New > Invoice from the dashboard. Set the customer, currency, language and due date, then enter the item quantities and rates. Time and mileage amounts are calculated from the entries; expense amounts can be edited. Taxes, discounts and shipping can apply to individual lines or the invoice subtotal.

Once a client is selected, Invoice Settings lets you choose among your activated payment methods and control whether the email includes the PDF. Your Payment Integrations opens the business-level payment setup. Payment-provider charges are separate from the invoicing subscription.

For repeat work, the built-in recurring invoices and reminders reduce repeated data entry. If you downgrade a paid account, the current plan remains available until its billing period ends.

Strengths

  • Time, expense and mileage entries can become invoice lines
  • Invoice settings control currency, language, payment methods and PDF delivery
  • Paid plans raise both client and invoice allowances

Watch out for

  • Free accounts allow only five invoices monthly and three saved clients
  • The free plan limits online collection to PayPal and retains PDF branding

Best for

  • Freelancers billing time and reimbursable expenses
  • Small teams whose invoice and customer counts fit a published tier
