What it does
iOverlander maps campgrounds and services contributed by travellers. It combines place information, check-ins and filters, with free and paid plans that differ in downloaded places, offline maps and export access.
Separate downloaded place data from the offline map beneath it. The free plan allows one set of places at a time. Pro allows three place sets and three offline maps; Unlimited expands those allowances and includes website exports in KML, GPX and CSV. A set usually means one country, but in the US and Canada it usually means a state or province.
The published annual prices are US$59.99 for Pro and US$99.99 for Unlimited, with local app pricing to check. Paid annual plans start with a seven-day trial. Download the appropriate area before a journey without signal, and use place descriptions and traveller check-ins to investigate a stop. Saved filters and additional map layers support more specific needs, such as camping and service points, within the relevant plan.
Strengths
- Distinguishes place downloads from offline map allowances
- Provides community place information and overlanding-service discovery
Watch out for
- Free access allows one downloaded place set and does not include paid offline-map allowances.
Best for
- Overland travellers planning campsites and service stops
