What it does
BestTrace is IPIP's traceroute client family, with Windows, Android, iOS, Mac and Linux downloads and route visualization.
BestTrace runs from the device whose connection you want to investigate and adds location context to its traceroute visualization. IPIP lists distinct Windows, Android, iOS and Mac clients. Its Linux offering also covers x86/ARM Linux, Mac and BSD environments and documents JSON output, useful when preserving results for another tool. Choose the relevant client rather than assuming every interface has identical controls. The observed route belongs to that source and time; address-location annotations are not proof of a router’s exact physical position. IPIP’s database trials, browser extensions and commercial datasets are separate offerings on the same page.
