What it does
IPtoASN publishes IPv4, IPv6 and combined address-range datasets containing ASN and country mapping fields.
Choose IPv4, IPv6 or the combined gzip-compressed TSV, then match the input address to its range. ASN files contain start/end, AS number, country code and AS description; country-only files omit the ASN fields. An IPv4 unsigned-32-bit variant supports numeric range matching. The publisher updates the datasets hourly and licenses them under PDDL v1.0, while your downloaded copy remains a snapshot until refreshed. The former public API was discontinued on December 31, 2020; current workflows use the data locally or run their own service. Country and ASN mapping describe the dataset’s network attribution, not a device’s exact physical location.
