What it does

Islami Bank Bangladesh provides iBanking through its web portal and iSmart app, alongside the CellFin mobile channel. Customers can request cheque books, stop available cheques and schedule repeat tasks. Bank transfers use different domestic routes with their own charges.

Cheque requests and stopped payments

Manage Cheque accepts requests for books with 10, 20, 50 or 100 leaves. Ordering online starts the request; collection and account deduction follow the bank’s normal process.

A cheque must have available status to be stopped online, and the action requires two-factor authentication. Re-enabling it for payment requires the branch. This distinction matters when a cheque has been found after you asked the bank to stop it.

Create Tasks supports one-time or repeated transfers and mobile recharges up to a chosen end time. For example, a recurring transfer to another Islami Bank account can run on the schedule you set.

Transfer charges

The portal lists iTransfer between Islami Bank accounts at BDT 0.25 per BDT 1,000, with a BDT 5 minimum and BDT 100 maximum, plus VAT. Deposits to specified savings schemes, including MSS and MMS, are exempt. Its RTGS service lists BDT 100 per transfer plus VAT. The annual iBanking service charge is listed as free; that does not make every banking transaction free.

Register and activate access

Start with Sign up on the iBanking portal. The registration guide uses an email address as the user ID, collects personal and account details, and verifies a mobile code. Submit the resulting authentication form to a branch for approval. Transactional access additionally requires the bank’s transaction PIN (TPIN) and debit-account approval steps.

CellFin offers a separate mobile route for cash-by-code, money requests and funding from supported cards or accounts. Its registration and limits differ from web banking.

Strengths

  • Cheque stops have a clear status requirement and reversal route
  • Repeat tasks can run until a chosen end time
  • Several domestic transfer routes are available

Watch out for

  • Re-enabling a stopped cheque requires branch help
  • Online registration still includes branch approval for iBanking

Best for

  • Islami Bank Bangladesh customers managing cheque tasks and recurring payments
