What it does

Siemens Industrial Experience is an open-source design system for industrial software. It includes UI patterns, web components, design resources and content guidance for designers, developers and writers.

Siemens Industrial Experience brings patterns, components and writing guidance together for industrial software. Its native Web Components form the common base, with starter applications for React, Angular and Vue.

The starter apps contain an application shell and example pages for forms, ECharts charts and AG Grid tables, plus a light-and-dark theme toggle. To start a React project, run npx degit siemens/ix-starter/apps/react-starter my-ix-react-app, enter that directory, then run pnpm install and pnpm dev. The Angular and Vue examples use their corresponding starter folders.

The generator copies a starter without the full repository history. It uses the current main branch by default; appending a repository tag to the starter path selects an older version. A hosted React preview is available if you want to inspect the layout first.

The design system is free under MIT and the public local setup needs no Siemens account. The starter supplies interface examples and integrations; connect its forms and data views to your own industrial application.
