What it does

Jana Small Finance Bank’s app provides account statements, domestic transfers and card-management tools. Statements can be downloaded as PDF or Excel files or sent by email. Its Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA) has no average monthly balance requirement.

For a fuller account review, choose a detailed statement instead of a mini statement. PDF suits a saved record; Excel is useful for working through individual entries. The app also handles cheque-book requests, stopped cheques and email-address changes. Increasing a daily mobile transaction limit requires branch contact.

Register and manage the card

Mobile registration accepts a customer reference number or debit-card details, followed by a one-time code sent to the registered phone number. Registering on a new handset removes the old handset’s registration. A changed phone number must first be updated through a branch or ATM.

For a new card PIN, sign in and open Services, then Debit Card Management, then Reset/Generate ATM PIN. Select the card, enter and confirm the new PIN, submit it and verify the one-time code. The bank says this activates the card immediately.

Basic savings and service costs

The BSBDA option is for resident Indians and includes a RuPay Classic card and mobile banking. Apply through a branch or request an appointment. You cannot keep another Jana savings account alongside it; an existing one must close within 30 days.

In the July 2026 tariff, BSBDA has no card issuance or annual card charge. Ordinary Jana Savings has a ₹1,000 average monthly balance requirement and a ₹50 annual card charge. Listed service fees include ₹50 for a cheque-stop request and ₹25 for a duplicate statement, before GST. A zero balance requirement therefore does not mean every requested service is free.

Strengths

  • Detailed statements export to PDF or Excel
  • PIN generation includes one-time code verification and card activation
  • BSBDA has no average monthly balance requirement

Watch out for

  • Higher daily mobile limits require branch contact
  • BSBDA cannot coexist with another Jana savings account

Best for

  • Jana customers exporting account history or managing debit-card details
