What it does

Jedox provides financial planning, forecasting, reporting and consolidation. It connects financial and operational indicators through models, dashboards and Excel-oriented interfaces.

Jedox brings financial plans and operational measures into shared models. Finance teams can work through a browser or Excel, while other users contribute budgets or inspect reports according to their role. This suits planning where sales, staffing or other business assumptions need to connect to the accounts.

Work with a model from Excel

The Excel 365 add-in requires access to Jedox Cloud and Microsoft 365. In the Jedox Add-in ribbon, choose Connections, then Connect, enter the company’s cloud address and sign in with credentials or the configured single sign-on method.

Insert a stored View or create one by selecting the database, model and dimensions. Edit View rearranges rows and columns; Apply confirms the selection. Right-click a total and choose Jedox, then Drillthrough, to open its underlying details in a new sheet. Drill History shows cell changes when auditing is enabled. The View’s refresh date helps establish how current its displayed values are.

Packages and roles

Package Main scope
Business Basic models, with additional roles, connectors and other options available
Professional Business features plus a test system, additional security, onboarding and assisted planning
Professional Plus Capacity for larger models and more simultaneous users

Cloud subscriptions use a monthly named-user rate billed annually, with a custom quote based on roles, modules and deployment. Full Users manage models and integrations; Planners enter and approve budgets; Viewers inspect shared reports.

The Excel 365 add-in works on Windows, macOS and in a browser, but requires Jedox Cloud and does not support an on-premises Jedox installation. Views do not refresh on every Excel calculation. Some advanced list and subset editing also stays outside this add-in.

Strengths

  • Excel views can expose the detailed records behind a total
  • Cell history is available when auditing is enabled
  • Separate planning and viewing roles fit different department responsibilities

Watch out for

  • The Excel 365 add-in requires Jedox Cloud and Microsoft 365 access
  • Views do not automatically refresh with every Excel recalculation

Best for

  • Finance teams modeling operational assumptions alongside budgets
