What it does
Jetpack Stats provides WordPress traffic, content and audience reports, available through the broader Jetpack plugin or its dedicated Stats plugin. Paid access adds campaign, device and more detailed geographic reporting.
Jetpack Stats separates who can read a report from whose visits count. In WP Admin, open Stats > Settings. Use Logged-in views to include selected roles and Stats access to let other roles see reports. Changes save automatically. This lets an editor inspect readership without adding their own logged-in visits to the totals.
Follow a newsletter link into the report
With paid Stats, open the UTM card and choose URL Builder. Enter the destination page, a source such as your newsletter's name, the medium email, and a campaign name. Copy the generated address with Copy to clipboard and use it in the newsletter. Visits through that address appear in the UTM card, where source, medium and campaign views separate this mailing from other referrals.
The free service covers any site type and traffic level, with full history. Paid access adds campaign, device, regional and city reporting. Its traffic bands exclude each month's two busiest days; sustained overages for three months trigger an upgrade requirement and eventually restrict visible reports. Exact prices are available in the purchase flow. Setup connects the site to a WordPress.com account, which is separate from the site's own WordPress login.
Full-post views in WordPress.com Reader can contribute to pageviews without a matching named referrer.
