What it does

Job Bank is Canada’s national employment service, available on the web and through a mobile app. It combines private- and public-sector job discovery with email alerts, matching, resume preparation and career-planning information.

A job search and a career decision can use different parts of the service. Browse vacancies when the target role is clear, or explore occupations, fields of study and career quizzes when deciding what to pursue. The resume builder supports preparation after that direction becomes more specific.

Labour-market reports compare occupations and locations across Canada, including wages and employment prospects. These are research tools rather than the terms of an individual offer. Job-title and location filters help narrow the Wage and Outlook reports. Young Canadians also have a resource route covering training, volunteering, apprenticeships and other early-career opportunities. Alerts and matching can then follow the selected search. Employment and Social Development Canada delivers the service with provincial and territorial partners, so those regional routes remain part of one national Job Bank product.

If you do not have a valid Canadian work permit, use the international-candidate route. In Advanced search, combine a job title and Canadian location with the Canadians and international candidates filter, then check Who can apply for this job? in the selected notice. A Job Bank listing does not establish permission to work.
