What it does
vkdt is a photography workflow toolbox built around a processing graph with multiple inputs and outputs.
vkdt’s graph can connect multiple inputs and outputs, which suits image sequences and processing jobs that need more than a single linear adjustment chain. RAW files start with a default processing graph; the command-line tool replaces display nodes with export nodes when rendering it. That gives the graph a route to files as well as a screen preview. Hardware is part of the decision: processing uses Vulkan on the GPU. The documentation suggests 4 GB of video memory for a workable setup and at least 8 GB for large graphs or images above 50 MP, while noting that smaller-memory systems may run. Some codecs and metadata features also depend on the build.
Strengths
- Flexible processing graph
- Folder-based workflow and command-line utility
Watch out for
- Processing depends on Vulkan GPU support
Best for
- Building a repeatable RAW image-processing graph
